Background:

In partnership with the College of Medicine Honors in Research program, The Translational Research Institute (TRI) is pleased to offer an exciting research experience to first and second year medical students. The TRI, through its Rural Research Network and programs, is looking for students interested in learning about and participating in community-based research focused in medically underserved, rural, and minority populations. The Translational Research Innovations and Partners (TRIP) program was developed to provide medical students with cross-cutting research experiences using innovations that facilitate research with rural partnerships. If you are a first or second year medical student looking for a summer research experience, we welcome you to apply to the TRI TRIP program in Rural Health. The program is being offered at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) campus in Little Rock, UAMS-Northwest campus in Fayetteville, and the research experience may include field research across communities in Arkansas, depending on research focus area. This program is funded, in part, by the National Center for the Advancement of Translational Science, NCATS grant UL1TR003107.
